FEATURED PROJECT

Community Outreach, Empowerment and Resilience Program

Duration: 12 months
Geographic focus: Three districts
Target: Approximately 1,500 community members
Funding requirement: USD 6,350

Project Background

Many communities continue to experience challenges that affect wellbeing, livelihoods, access to information, participation and resilience. These challenges can be strengthened by limited access to appropriate information, community engagement opportunities and connections with relevant stakeholders.

Brace Africa International proposes a community outreach program designed to engage communities across three districts through awareness, dialogue, empowerment and resilience-building activities.

The project will work with community members and relevant stakeholders to identify priorities, share information, strengthen participation and encourage practical community-led responses.

Overall Goal

To strengthen community resilience, participation and access to opportunities through coordinated outreach, empowerment and awareness activities across three districts.

Specific Objectives

  1. To engage approximately 1,500 community members through structured outreach activities.
  2. To increase community awareness around relevant health, wellbeing, resilience and development issues.
  3. To strengthen participation of youth, women and other community stakeholders.
  4. To promote knowledge, life skills and empowerment opportunities.
  5. To strengthen collaboration between communities, local stakeholders and development partners.
  6. To document community needs, activities, lessons and emerging outcomes.
  7. To support practical community-led approaches to resilience and sustainable development.

Key Activities

1. Community Mobilization

Engage local leaders, community representatives and stakeholders before implementation.

2. Community Outreach Sessions

Conduct structured outreach activities within the selected districts.

3. Awareness & Information Sessions

Share appropriate information on health, wellbeing, resilience, opportunities and community development.

4. Youth Engagement

Conduct activities that encourage youth participation, leadership, life skills and opportunity awareness.

5. Women Engagement

Promote participation, empowerment, leadership and access to relevant opportunities.

6. Community Dialogue

Create spaces for communities to discuss challenges, priorities and possible solutions.

7. Stakeholder Engagement

Work with relevant institutions and partners to strengthen coordination and referrals where appropriate.

8. Documentation

Record activities, participation, lessons learned and emerging outcomes.
